I used to be a member of a church who's minister had tons of animals and he toured the country with an animal show called "Thank God For Kids". And each animal had a Bible verse/story for the kids. Anyway - I toured with the show for two summers and got to play with lions (there were two; Nala and Bubba), a tiger, a black bear named Paulie as well as goats, pigs, rabbits. It was a lot of fun and the animals were always really really cool to play with.

One time - I got peed on by Bubba. Great time in my life.

I was the Zoo on Wheels lady at the Philadelphia Zoo way back in the 1980s. Do I have Stories????? Oye...the time the Praire Dog bit me. The time the Great Horned Owl flew off my arm into an audience of 100 1st and 2nd graders, the time the 8 foot long King snake escaped in my zoo van and every time I shifted the gear stick I heard a long, loud hiss!
The cocktail party I did at Elaine's that lasted late into the night and was such a trauma I drove back to the zoo around midnight in tears with a Cockatoo sitting on my head...... I could tell you stories, Boys!
BTW Jason born on Friday the 13th, my husband's name is Jimmy Hendricks, he grew up with that burden.
Love,
Ellen (formerly known as the Zoo Lady)

I remember when I was very little I went on a train ride in Iowa. It was a great opportunity that I have never forgot. I have no idea what train it was but I do remember it went really high in the air and gave you a beautiful view of Iowa...if it's still there you should try it.

I took a train from Venice to Rome on Good Friday many years ago. The Italians were bringing all of their stuff to the Vatican to be blessed by the Pope on Easter Sunday... everything from their jewelry to their chickens. It was so crowded there was no place to sit - my friend and I sat on our luggage in the hallway.

It was hot, crowded and smelly... but still so beautiful!

Much Love. -Jenn
